I do not like the mechanization idea, it is a horrible way to develop our society. I do not agree with the things they do the animals no matter what they are for. The mass production is not healthy for the production of the food , this increases the amount of germs in the food they are producing for these multi million dollar companies. Assembly lines were supposed to make life better but I believe that made them worse because they took the life out of actually completing work everyday, so this makes them miserable I think. This just goes to show that these people don't like working they are just working pay check to pay check

3/12/15

The story begins with a vivid visual description of each character and each situation they are put in. I believe the characters are made up within his imagination and that's how each character has his own idea. Irony was the literary device that I noticed due to the fact that the use of the Royal Jelly turned them into actual bees. This probably came from the over use of the jelly although it was very tasteful to them.

Due:2/4/15

1. The lamb symbolized innocence in the story's. They are described as little and soft and know for giving us the Most comfy clothes. The tiger represented survival because he is feared by most and portrays evil situations. Yes, Blake did this in order to display the differences between the two symbolic elements in the story.
2. The use of figurative language such as, alliteration, helps us notice the small observations he wants us to see throughout the story.
3. "The lamb" help me connect the story to "the chimney sweeper" due to the similarity made between Tom's bald head the shaved back of a lamb due. This was to show how much they got taken advantage of on a regular basis. Their young and inexperienced minds are the reason they continue to get taken advantage of because they don't know any better.
4. The young boys were suffering because they were sold and/or put to work in a chimney at a very young age.families did this because they didn't have the money to take of their families without it.
5. The cat thinks he is bigger than he actually is.
6. Yes because they all have a symbol of innocence. People have the most empathy for children and animals so I would say "the lamb" and "infant sorrows".
7. Poets usualy write based on what is going on in their time period . "The chimney sweeper" showed us the struggle that many young children had to go through to help their families make money to survive.

Due:2/5/15

It is notice by many that in our society people are not thankful for the environment they are surrounded by. This also may cause them to minimize the opportunities they are given in our modern society. I believe that this is due to the focus being on irrelevant subjects opposed to focusing on what was there before everything else. Today's society has failed to open their eyes and appreciate the God given nature.

Due:2/8/15

The mariner's goal was to spread his thoughts throughout the entire land available. He hoped that his stories and advise will teach the people how to avoid the depression. He teaches them to out God above everything , because he will guide you in the right path. The learners/readers will always have a source to refer back to when they want to review this lesson ever again, or if they wanted to pass it along to others.

The Umbrella Man

The story of this greedy trickster is appealing to me. This is because these type of things happen all the time in real life events. Some people will do anything to make money no matter how much lying, stealing, and caniving they have to do. These type of people are displayed as self-fish because they are stealing from people of their own community. It is never okay to trick someone into giving you money to fulfill your unjust needs whether they have to do with alcoholic substances or drugs. Although I found this story interesting , I believe it should have been more detailed leading up to when the two women found out his addiction. The mother and the daughter were very active characters. They both had the same seldom attitude and their personas both played a good role off of one another's. The mother was extremely correct when she said you cannot trust just anyone who walks up and talks to you. She said "Never rush things, always take your time when summing someone up." This is true , it is the same as saying you can't judge a book by its cover. I think it is ironic that a man with a classy persona like himself would turn out to be a caniving liar that wanted to take advantage of everyone he could to satisfy his alcoholic "needs". I believe the alcohol that he intakes is symbolic of what fuels him to take advantage of kind people, it may even be that he can't control these actions.

The Hitchhiker

This story displayed a combination of things , it showed me empathy , mischievousness, and also curiousity . The driver showed empathy towards this hitchhiker because he was in the same position before he became extremely successful, so giving this man a ride made him feel good about himself because he was doing a good deed for society. This man was grateful that someone of this stature would take the time out his day to bless him with a ride on his way to London. The man driving this new BMW is just appreciative that he has came a long way to be successful and wants to show his appreciation when possible. The hitchhiker on the other hand, he is a tricky, sneaky and clever old man. His "craft" goes right along with his personality. He is a master at his job like he said, better known as a "fingersmith".
I believe it's foreshadowing that the man driving this new BMW was just a hitchhiker not too long ago and now he is the person picking up new hitchhikers. This is a beneficial way of life for him because he is giving back.
